Some of my earliest memories are of wandering through the woods with my collie. As a child, the forest was my getaway—a place that held countless new discoveries in an ever changing landscape. I was enchanted by the little things: wildflowers blooming along the path, lichens on fallen logs, fireflies drifting through the trees, and mushrooms quietly emerging from the forest floor. That sense of wonder has stayed with me throughout my life and continues to shape my work today.
I am a self-taught artist inspired by the beauty and magic of the natural world. Through painting, digital art, and sculpture, I celebrate the flora, fauna, and funga that have always filled me with wonder.
While exploring the forest around my home, I often find pieces of trash and litter scattered about. I began to imagine the forest reclaiming it. I started bringing those discarded objects home and transforming them into sculptures with polymer clay mushrooms growing from them, transforming each piece from trash to a reminder that nature has an incredible ability to heal, renew, and reclaim.
Although I work in several different mediums, my purpose remains the same: to invite others to slow down and notice the extraordinary beauty hidden in ordinary places. Whether it's the delicate petals of spring wildflowers, the gnarled branched of an old oak tree, or a cluster of mushrooms bursting forth from the undergrowth, I hope my artwork inspires the same sense of curiosity and wonder that I've carried with me since childhood.
